Unusually high amount of citrus fruits detected with prochloraz

What is wrong with our citrus fruits?

A few days ago iComplai anomaly detection algorithm identified the unusually high number of notifications about the substance prochloraz.

The reason was that in 2021, there were already 17 notifications about citrus fruits containing prochloraz. If compared with the total notifications in 2020, which was summed up to 28 notifications in the whole year.

16 notifications are from border control in Bulgaria. Recently an incident was reported from market surveillance in Croatia. This makes us think - are we going into a case like sesame seeds, where the more we check, the more needs to be reported?

The origin country was Turkey for all cases in 2021.
