The Food Crime Strategic Assessment, produced by the UK National Food Crime Unit (NFCU) and the Scottish Food Crime and Incidents Unit (SFCIU), examines areas of the food supply chain which may be vulnerable to food crime, as well identifying emerging threats which need to be addressed.

For Europe, European Commission has up to now sent 1,749 rapid alerts for the hazard category “adulteration / fraud”. These have been mostly in terms of false / fraudulent health certificates and attempt to illegally import. That is why 75% of the fraud was already caught at the border.
